又爱又恨 (QQ空间的麻烦)
As QQ has gained prominence as an instant messenger service in China, we will lose touch with the majority if we are operating in China. However, the blog space or Qzone has proven to be really unfriendly. In the past, posts with illegal words were simply rejected leaving you to find out and delete those so called illegal words before you could post them. However, there was no guidance or hint to tell you what you had to remove. Now, the system has improved a little bit. They are labeling your posts which contain illegal words as "Under Approval". Again, you won't be informed what are the words which have been classified as illegal.
So far, I am very pleased with the forum of www.oralpractice.com. This is especially useful if you have a good response from a reader. The replies in the Qzone are not displayed neatly like the original post. I am still trying different blog spaces out. Before I forget, there is another problem with Qzone as of late. You cannot guarantee that the link to a Qzone post you give in other places can lead other readers to your Qzone post as from last month I found out that one has to be a friend of the QQ owner before you can read the post of his Qzone posts. This is ridiculous. I suspect Qzone is being monitored closely recently due to the cramp down of content by the cyber police. I have to find a blog where I can refer to easily by giving out the URL of articles in there so if I discover any errors or put in some refinement in my article, I will just have to edit one article instead of going to a number of blogs where I have posted the same article.
By the way, I received a brilliant response to my forum article from a professional translator Martin Peng (a registered member of the OralPractice.com site) here in China. Let me put you there:-

Martin Peng's reply reads like this:-
"I read every single word of the above. Uncle Martin, you've got a point there. Writing is like speaking to anyone you can imagine without interruption. It helps us speak logically, fluently and meaningfully. Our mind goes like a flowing river while speaking and writing. The problem with me is that I've kept too many things to myself and don't even bother to write and speak. But after reading uncle Martin's words, it dawned on me that the itch to talk to somebody else or to communicate is the essence for both speaking and writing. I love to listen and read English, but when it comes to writing and speaking, I am not used to speaking or writing too many words, I prefer to be concise. You know, I am a man of few words. And oftentimes my mind runs into something language cannot convey, I mean when I am thinking, my mind often goes astray, does not works in language, even our mother tongue, let alone English. In other words, I prefer abtract thinking and thinking in images rather than words. However, English is my livelihood now, I am a translator supervisor with an IT company based in Shenzhen and I need to improve it for any advancement in this career. I am not clear what is standing in my way. Do I simply lack practice, or the personality needs to be changed, or both? One needs to be more garrulous and gregarious to speak fluent English?
Thank you uncle Martin. I've always wanted a teacher like you. Now I've found you."
不要总是整天用中文谈论学英语,否则你永远是在发梦!用简单的英语,不要好高慕远。
