It is through language that we can exercise our creativity. We use words to express ideas. We create our dreams using language expressions. We describe our vision using language.
As Chinese, we use written characters which are basically pictures. These pictorial characters come together to become an expressive language. We communicate ideas in a language. Before we can do that, we need to cumulate enough number of pictorial characters and be able to use them freely for the purpose.
Returning to the concerned language of English, we need to firstly learn enough vocabulary and see how users arrange those words to become meaningful expressions. Then we start using that language as a tool to communicate with others.
The question that remains now is how to gather enough words to make you become a user of English. You just have to start with reading. You read passages and passages of written English and become familiar with the words used and how they are being arranged to become meaningful expressions.
From more elementary written material, you move on to intermediate level and then the advanced level. It's a lengthy journey definitely but is worth the time and effort invested in such an endeavour.
